But could one be disqualified for committing a major sin, such as murder or adultery? According to Jesus' statement in the Sermon on the Mount, if someone could lose their eternal life for a "major" sin, then everyone who has lusted would be disqualified. Not only could murder disqualify a person, so could the sin of bitterness. Sin is sin, and God hates it all. He doesn't distinguish between degrees of sin. That was the Pharisees' mistake.
