How did the universe get here?
Either it is eternal, it spontaneously came from nothing, or it was created by an eternal being.

Most scientists tend to agree with the Big Bang theory. There was a point at which the universe began. The message from astronomy is that the universe is expanding, and the message from physics is that it is "winding down." Either way, the universe is not eternal.

One of the cardinal rules of science is that nothing comes from nothing. Science always looks for a cause to explain an effect.
