In Isaiah 53, the prophet Isaiah foretold that the Messiah would come from a humble family, would be rejected, would bear the punishment for others, would be pierced through for our sins, would be whipped, and would be meek and silent as a lamb led to the slaughter. He would be buried as a pauper but end up in a rich man's grave -- all this without ever committing any violence himself. Every detail, written 700 years before the time of Christ, matches precisely with the purpose of Jesus' life and the events surrounding his life and his death.
