Then why will many people end up in hell?
We can tell what God really wants for all of us by looking at how he started things out (paradise) and how he wants things to end up for us (Heaven). Jesus suffered a cruel death on the cross so that no one would have to go to hell.

Not everyone is willing to admit his/her sinfulness and receive Christ's pardon. Jesus paid the penalty on the cross; it's up to us now. He will not force us. Hell is simply a place for people who refuse to come to God on His terms. C.S Lewis said the door to hell is locked from the inside and there are two kinds of people: those who say, "Your will be done, O God," and those to whom God says, sadly, "Your will be done, O man. Have it your way."
