Most of us agree that criminals should pay some kind of penalty. It's not because we are mean and vengeful but because we're caring and have a sense of justice. Someone being sincerely sorry doesn't remove the need for justice. God's justice is definitely different from ours in that He's more just than we are, not less. That's why being sorry doesn't solve the problem between us and God. |
