How could one man do all this? How could one man pay the penalty for billions of people, for all mankind? One man couldn't, but the God-man, Jesus, could. The Bible tells us that Jesus, as God, actually created our world and all of us. So, the creator came to sacrifice His life, giving it in exchange for us -- creatures that He loves. He made up the rules that we've all broken, then He lovingly humbled Himself and suffered the ultimate punishment in our place. God Himself could and did pay the penalty. Love and justice -- both/and, not either/or! |
