Plenty of people believe the basic facts but have never made a decision to trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. That's why it's possible to believe that Jesus lived, died on the cross for sins, and rose again, but still answer the question about why God should let us in Heaven with, "I've led a good life." They might have good information and believe it intellectually but still be trusting in themselves. That is the final and essential part of what real faith is all about -- making a decision to transfer trust from self to Jesus Christ. |
