The flower, the dog, the man and God
For the sake of the analogy, assume that the story characters can communicate. A flower and a dog were standing out in the meadow, and the dog said to the flower, "Boy it's getting hot out here. I think I'm going to trot over into the shade." The flower said, "You can't trot over into the shade. You've got to bloom where you are planted." The dog said, "What do you mean I can't trot over to the shade? Just watch!" So he trotted over into the shade, and the flower said, "Wow! That was a miracle!" It would have been a miracle if the flower had trotted over into the shade, but it wasn't a miracle for the dog to do it.
