When Christ died, He paid the penalty for all sins. That means that all our sins -- past, present and future -- are paid for. Since He paid for all of our sins, we who have received the pardon have a clean slate in God's eyes for our entire life. That's why it's possible for a perfect and holy God to accept sinners. He doesn't have to lower His standard to let us in. Through Christ, all of our sins were paid for and removed from our record. We are perfectly and completely forgiven. |
